Weighted blanket made with the linen fabric (pepper color). All our linen fabrics are Oeko Tex certified and production causes no air, noise or water pollution. All dyes are environmentally friendly but the product is currently not certified Organic.Lastly, our linen fabrics are softened using an air process that loosens up the stiff natural fibers without affecting the fabrics durability. Linen is breathable, thermoregulating and moisture-wicking, which allows for a great comfort all year round.Information about our products:• Weight is equally distributed across all pockets. We make our pockets quite small (4x6 inches). Because of this, our blankets are more time consuming to make. However; we believe that this extra effort is worth it as it helps to maintain optimal weight distribution. Our typical adult sized blanket has 120 pockets that are hand filled with beads.• We exclusively use glass beads for our blankets, as we like to use natural materials as much as possible in our products. We do not charge extra for the glass beads even though most of our competitors consider glass to be an upgrade fill. • Glass beads are an especially wonderful alternative to people who are extra sensitive to textures and sounds. The beads we use are fine like sand (not bulky like plastic/poly pellets) and do not make as much noise when shifting inside the blanket. Every element that glass is made from is a 100% natural. It is a pure material so there is no chance of encountering harmful chemicals or toxins. A few words about weighted blankets...Do you remember the relaxing feeling of being hugged or embraced in someone’s loving arms? Do you remember the sensation of calmness and coziness? This physical comfort is due to the pressure that is releasing serotonin in your body. Serotonin is a hormone in the body that gives us a sense of well-being. Some of that serotonin becomes melatonin which is a hormone that helps you relax and controls your sleep cycle. A weighted blanket simulates the action of being held or hugged and, as a result, the body releases these naturally occurring hormones. As a result, many people fall asleep faster and experience a deeper and more restful sleep. Weighted blankets are also designed to reduce anxiety that is very common in our current fast-paced and stressed world. Who can benefit for using a weighted blanket? •People who suffer from sleep disorders, insomnia, anxiety, panic attacks, sensory disorders, Autism, ADD/ADHD Spectrum Disorders, Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Cerebral Palsy, Down’s Syndrome or Restless Legs Syndrome.•College students that are experiencing high level of anxiety or fear due to numerous deadlines and a being in a new environment. •Those suffering with PTSD’s (post-traumatic stress disorders)Of course, weighted products are not a cure-all for illness. One should not replace their recommended treatment regimen. Please consult with your physician or occupational therapist or other health care provider to find out what would be the optimal weight of the blanket to address your condition.
